“Being miserable and treating other people like dirt is every New Yorker’s God-given right.”
–The Mayor of NYC, Ghostbusters II
When I saw the emails start flying about the death of Harold Ramis, yesterday, I thought “Not Egon!” Because of course, to me, he’ll always be Egon. The obits and everything talk about Caddyshack and Animal House. But I just really love Ghostbusters. The two movies were funny without resorting to gross out humor and without going too far into vulgar territory.
A New Yorker article said of Ramis, “When he was sent to the principal’s office on the first day of first grade for chewing gum, he remembers thinking, Well, there goes college.” I just love that!
