But it was lovely and sunny and cool. Very bizarre June weather. I went to a birthday party on Saturday night where I saw lots of old friends. I managed to get up early on Sunday and go to church. I was duly punished for this, though, because it was choir recognition Sunday and thus we spent 20 minutes applauding the choirs. I had some drinks in Brooklyn and basked in the sunshine.
Social media tells me that everyone had a lovely Easter Weekend. Mine was quiet but just fine. I ran the Scotland 10K on Saturday and improved my pace immensely. On Sunday, I went to church where I sat behind a woman whose Easter bonnet had antlers. It was very A Midsummers Night Dream. I also ate candy for breakfast.
I had a lovely Easter Weekend. Coming off an insane work week, I did nothing other than eat brunch and catch up on TV. But that’s okay. I went to two brunches–one in Brooklyn and one in Queens. Both at apartments of lovely friends and both prepared in their kitchens. My friends have skills.
I also went to Grace Church in Union Square and that church, my friends, knows how to do a service. It was a long service, but it was a good one. Quelle treat. And then I watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s for a little Audrey, Paul Varjack and Henry Mancini comfort food. Oh, and I saw that cute yellow bug in the eighties on Saturday morning.
