I had to go to a baby shower in the Rockaways on Sunday. For those of you who don’t know, here is a map to show just how far away that is. One of my friends offered to drive, so we turned it into a fun roadtrip adventure. The shower was lovely–there were several activities, but no games involving diapers. We had delicious bite-sized snacks and mimosas. And I got to see the ocean and bask in how quiet it was so far from the city.

This is a short week for me–on Friday, I’m off to DC to run a half-marathon. Hopefully, the run and the week won’t be too painful.
