I jetted off to glamorous College Park, MD this weekend–and by jetted off, I mean I took the 3a train from Penn Station (quelle glamorous, right). My dear sister Susie picked me up at the metro station and we proceeded to dart around suburban Maryland and hit up Target (where I got a 2015 planner from the Sugar Paper LA line) and the liquor store. We listened to Taylor Swift loudly. It was just lovely. Then I napped. And then we went to Chipotle.

On Sunday, we traversed the beltway and headed to Sugarloaf Mountain (it is really kind of a hill) where we hiked SEVEN MILES. The vistas were worth it.

After our hike (which seemed endless at at least one point), we stopped at the Sugarloaf Winery, conveniently located at the base of the mountain, where we had some wine and cheese and sat outside. It was just lovely.

And when we got home, I napped again. And then we crafted and drank more wine.

I am always amazed that my dear sister can handle that Maryland driving. I get anxiety thinking about it. Regardless, my visit was just what I needed to get over a bad week. And I’m very thankful that Susie let me escape NYC and welcomed me!
