“I am a product of long corridors, empty sunlit rooms, upstairs indoor silences, attics explored in solitude, distant noises of gurgling cisterns and pipes, and the noise of wind under the tiles. Also, of endless books.”
—C. S. Lewis
What a great quote! What’s it from? I love attics and sometimes dream that I am exploring endless ones. I think it’s the result of growing up at 231 Westgate. I suppose C.S. Lewis had a bigger house in mind, but I can still relate.

I found it on another blog–but thorough Googling revealed that it is from CS Lewis’ autobiography!
I haven’t read it, but will add it to my endless list of must-reads. Wonderful post!
If I had a time machine, I would go back to my grandparents’ attic and take my time looking around. As I recall it was chock full of goodies.
