WORD ON THE STREET.

On Sunday, while riding the subway, Billy Crystal got on and sat in the seat directly across from me. I immediately recognized him and looked away so that I wouldn’t get caught staring. My eyes kept drifting up to catch a glimpse until he got off at Penn Station. I consider this quite the spotting. Some people might get excited about seeing current TV stars–the cast of Gossip Girl at a bar. And while, yes, that would be really something–especially if it was your birthday and Nate Archibald took a picture with you and whispered sweet nothings in your ear. But, the person I long to run into on the sidewalk is Steve Martin.

My friends tell me they’ve heard that he lives on the UWS, so I pretty much consider us neighbors. Maybe I could ask him for a cup of flour.
