Yes, it’s Merle Haggard. I’ve always thought young Merle was a babe.

And quite the poet. I love the line “The first thing I remember knowing was a lonesome whistle blowing.”

Excelent choice. Young Merle reminds me of Boyd Crowder on Justified.
