Audible laughing is a no-no in my office space. Nonetheless, this passage from an article in the New York Times made me chuckle.
Daniella Vitale, the executive vice president of Barneys New York, went shopping for a spring wardrobe for a family trip to Southern California — some shorts, T-shirts, a pair of Manolo Blahnik sandals — that would fit in one tiny suitcase.
“We get off the plane there, and it’s 42 degrees — 20 degrees colder than New York,” she said. “It got so bad that I bought a sweatshirt at Sea World. Even my children were embarrassed.”
