Today I trekked the one avenue and one block to the UWS New York Public Library. And secured my very own, very grown up library card. Since I a) can no longer afford to buy books and b) no longer have space to store books, this is big news.
I always feel like securing the library card is such a major step in the moving process. It’s like–Hello New York! I’m here. I can check out books! Big things ahead. Also, this is the same card design featured on the NYPL card I got as an intern in 2006.
Did you feel like Holly Golightly going to the library? Even if it wasn’t for the first time?
Awkward, I was going to make a SATC wedding reference… Mom’s is better.
I’m so happy that you can now check out all the books you want!! Just don’t forget to read your Emerson…
