I was certainly surprised when passing a bodega to realize that the face on the cover of Vogue this month is none other than Taylor Swift. It was a tad bizarre to read Anne Wintour’s Editor’s Note about Swift, even if it did read like something Maggie Smith would say in Downton Abbey.
Snooty tone aside, Swift, as always, came across as a well-adjusted, intelligent person. I loved when she said, “I think who you are in school really sticks with you. I don’t ever feel like the cool kid at the party, ever. It’s like Smile and be nice to everybody, because you were not invited to be here.”
Suffering builds character, right?
